Ivory Janies Nicholas, Sr., died May 6, 1981, in Portland. Oregon. He was born in Barton, I.A ., on September I. 1918, ihe thir teenth child o f Felix and Amy, I ouise Nicholas. The Nicholas fam ily moved to Morgan C ity , I A ., when he was seven years old and he spent his adolescence years there. At the age o f thirteen he moved to New Orleans, L A ., where he was educated as a tailor. He later met and married his wife o f forty years, the form er M aud Esther Delahoussaye. They resided in Yakima, Washington, where five of their six children were born. The Ivory Nicholas fam ily moved to Portland, Oregon in 1956.
