He has published works dealing with policy questions raised by emerging nations in the Caribbean, on the future o f the Untied Nations, and on the question o f national sovereignty vs international cooperation. He currently is researching the queston o f international responses and responsibilities in cases o f national insurgency. Culture and technology o f Indians o f teh Lower Columbia River region will be featured at teh annual show o f the Oregon Archaeological Society January 13 through 21 at omsi. The closing day, January 21st, w ill feature the fourth by Ailen Jones annual conference on Indian materials and culture. Most o f their selections were taken from their latest album entitled “ We Got The Moves” . Tunes included: “ Take A ll The Time You Need” , “ Let’s Do It” , Sunshine After The Storm” , “ Loving You A Lifetime” and, my favorite, 'Falling In Love” . You’ ll be glad to add this one to your collection. I t ’s mellow. The lyrics, arrangements and orchestrations are exceptional. Each year the entertainers on the Los Vegas Strip recognize their own in the entertainment business. The Checkmates have won it seven times for Group o f the Year. I f you were one o f the fortunate people to catch one o f the Sheraton you can see why they’ ve won so often. I f you didn’t catch one o f the shows, just pick up their latest album, “ We Got The Moves” . That’ ll hold until March or A pril when they are supposed to come back to Portland.
