On June 14th. between the tiptoeing hours of 1:00 and 9:00 in the morning, a very particular burglar entered the offices of YSOL Radio, 2723 N.E. 7th. Oliver O'Farrel. director of the struggling, independent, com m unity-oriented radio station, said Friday June 14, "He (the burglar) was very selective. He knew exactly what he wanted and that's all he took." Apparently the thief had been in the office before the closing time of 1:00 a.m., had shut off the burglar alarm and unlocked the back window. When the Y SOL offices were closed down for the night, the thief returned with transportation and some apparent help. He stole one turntable, one cassette recorder, an open reel tape deck, sixty 45-rpm records (all the latest), sixty albums (all the latest), three speakers, and two receivers. Some of the equipment be longed to employees of YSOL who had loaned it to the station until it was able to supply it's own. The loss is estimated at approximately $2.000. The rule that no visitors will be allowed in the offices after 5:30 will now be strictly enforced, and the back win dow will be boarded up per manently. This is a bill relating to the Laws against Discrimination. Basically, discrim ination has been a m atter of state concern since the early pas sage of laws covering race, color, creed, national origin and age. In 1971 the legis lature amended the law to incude non-discrimination in employment on the basis of sex. Now in 1973 discrimi nation on the bais of marital status has been declared unlawful by the lawmakers as they recently amended the Law. Marital status covers employment, credit and insurance transactions and real property transac tions. In ROY BURNETT'S VALIANTS IN VOLUME SALE!
