Advertising for "visit-the-laundry week," opening next Monday, con tinued yesterday in the form of a parade of 200 laundry delivery auto mobiles which started at Yamhill and Fourteenth streets at 3 P. M., and ended at Glisan and Fourth three-quarters of an hour later, having- criss-crossed the city and left numerous jams of irate but inter ested automobllists in Its wake. Th. n.,hi... ,j I , j , ' i "v"." t0 every uunqry in ine city, were ac companied by two brass bands. Sec retary Speers of the laundry asso ciation led the procession in the side-car of a motorcycle. "Visit-the-laundry week" is not a local affair. It is sponsored by the National Laundry association and -an open week in laundries all over the country is scheduled simultane ously. The object is to have every person in the city visit his own laundry and inspect the processes and ma ' chinery and get an idea how the thing is carried on. With general interest of an intelligent kind it is hoped that suggestions for improve ment and innovation will be" forth coming and a universal elevation of laundering standards result. The visitors will receive every courtesy from the laundry employes and special guides will be on hand to demonstrate and explain the vari ous processes of modern launder ing. Publishing Company Elects. MARSHFIELD, Or., Oct. 20. (Spe cial.) The Coos County Publishing company, formed here with a sub scription list of nearly 350 stock holders, named A. B. Gidiey of Marshfield, president; W. H. Mast, Bandon, vice-president; A. K. Peck, Marshfield, secretary; John E. Boss, C'oquille, treasurer. The directors of the company include beside the officers O. K. Hulen, L. D. Gordon, F. E. Wilson, Parshfield; Fred S. Bynon, North Bend; A. C. Chase, Myrtle Point. The company has purchased the mortage held by the Southwestern Bank of Oregon and Intends buying the Southwestern Oregon Daily News, it is said. The company will foreclose the mort gage after paying for it within the next two weeks and eliminate a lare indebtedness which is said to be held against the paper locally.
