(Special.) Reports that have ffone out from Salem that it would not be surprising f Governor Olcott requested the resignation ot Robert A. Booth or Simon Benson, or possibly both, in the interest ot harmony among the inembess of the state highway com mission, are without foundation. This was made plain today by Governor Olcott. who said he had not given the minor personal differences of Mr. Benson and Mr. Booth any thought. Reports of friction between Mr. Booth and Mr. Benson J-t a recent meeting of the highway commission were brought to the capital by James S Stewart, ex-representative from Wheeler county and now a resident of Corvallis. Since it was rumored that the two men had clashed and that the removal of one of the men would not be a sur prise to friends of the governor, sev eral applications for the office are said to have reached Salem.
