In April both he and the packing firm for which he was to work applied for passport per mit granting him the privilege of de ferment so he could spend the season with the fishing crews In Alaska. It is charged by draft workers that a very large proportion of declarant returned Alaska fishermen are either canceling their first papers or going at once into the shipyards. JUNEAU CLEARS WRECKAGE Twenty nouses Reported Washed Away by Flood. JUNEAU. Alaska. Sept. 37. Juneau officials, business men and miners joined today in clearing away the wreck age caused by yesterday's heavy rains and flood which inundated a portion of the city's business district and washed away about 20 houses. Electric light and power service will be resumed to night. On account of the absence of electric power newspapers were unable to ap pear today. 400 Boys See Y.M. C. A. Roand-Vp. About 400 boys were present at the annual round-up at the Y. M. C A. last night.
