Runner May Go Back.. NEWBERG. Or., Feb. 20. (To the Sporting Editor.) I would like to have you answer this question: A runner Is on second base and one on third and the pitcher has the ball. The runner on second does not see the one on third and starts to steal. The pitcher throws the ball to third and the man on third then tries to go home and the "third baseman throws the ball to the catcher, who stands on the plate with the ball. After the runner coming from third sees that the catcher has the ball, he starts back to third and the runner from second, after touching third gets back to second safely. May they do this? , Answer Yea, j 5. :. : . :.. rt"- " IS Miebus Expected to Have Hands Full With Baker. BOXER'S RECORD IS GOOD Rose City Athletic Club Prepares Card for Wednesday Smoker. He started boxing as an amateur in seat- tie in 1910, and since that time nas been -knocked out only once, Billy Weeks turning the trick in one rouna at Wilkeson, Wash., about three months ago. Weeks hit the Seattleite over the heart when he was not in tne best of condition. Hagen first started boxing as an amateur. He held- the welterweignt championship of the Northwest for three years, never losing acontest at 145 pounds, and since graduating Into the middleweight ranks has made a creditable showing. Many fans think that the name Romeo Is a nickname, but the swarthy Northerner was christened Romeo. He is a brother of Ed Hagen, the fighting Seattle policeman, who was shot and wounded about four months ago while running down a couple of burglars. Ed Hagen will be back on the force in two weeks, according to Romeo. Romeo is 25 years old, and has been boxing for six years. He fought Billy weeks at San Francisco 2 years ago, and lost a close four-round newspaper decision. He met Weeks a little later over the 20-round route, and again lost close decision. This was pulled off t Stevenson, B. C and many Seattle fans said that it should have been a draw. Stevenson is close to Vancouver, B. C. Hagen is a tough, aggressive and fairly clever boy, and if Miebus can defeat him handily he will be deserv- I lng of a lot of credit.
