"There are more sever symptoms to be found this year and I know few families which hare escaped a touch of the disease. I find mora grip than colds." Dr. J. C Zanr reports many cases of bad colds and grip which have oome under bis observation, but thinks the number about normal. He finds nu merous bronchial complications. The majority of cases are mild and do not require th attention ot physicians, ha points Out. Inclement Weather Blamed. The Inclement weather and winds are blamed by most physicians for the epidemic Tbe heavy east winds that recently prevailed are mainly respon sible, they say. Warm Chinook winds are expected to break up the siege ot grip and colds. "Grip ts the cause of much throat and middle ear trouble," raid Dr. Ban ner R. Brooke yesterday, "and may lead to abscess of the brain and other alarming complications. "I have noticed that the most preva lent complication this year has been the ear abscess." said Dr. Babbitt yester day. "There have been many double abscesses and tbe ear seem the prin cipal points of attack. Grip changes in its after-symptoms almost every year. I have noticed. "Last year it was followed with throat complications, of which there are only few mis year. Before that stomach and tonsils were attacked. Though I have seen many serious cases, there have been no fatalities." Though many teachers are confined to their homes and some classrooms are badly decimated by the epidemic of grip, there have been no schools or classrooms closed on account of It, according to City School Superintend ent Alderman.
