With an interesting programme of music and patriotic speeches the new Lincoln High School building, on Sev enth and Market streets, was formally opened last night. Thousands of per sons visited the magnificent new struc ture ami went through the various rooms. The programme of the affair took place in the main assembly-room which was crowded. The address of the evening was de livered by WallaWe McCamant who spoke on the life of Lincoln. "No bet ter idea could be conceived than to name this new school after that great patriot." he said. "He represented everything that is noble in life and dedicating should represent. The name is extremely fitting." H. C Campbell, chairman of the Board of IMucation. delivered the ad dress of welcome and explained the features of the new building. He an nounced that the total cost was $625,000 after the amount received for another high school site was deducted. An excellent programme was given by the Lincoln High School orchestra led by Dr. F. E. Chapman, director of music in the public schools. A number of classical pieces were played and several solos given during the even ing. Particularly Interesting was the dis play of the school of trades in the basement of the building. All manner of Interesting samples of work being done by the students were on exhibi tion In this department. Mrs. Mtfgl Carter, of Wake field. Mass.. started In the milk business nine years ago ith one cow. Today she owns a herd of 50 Jersey. Her dally milk route Includes 8ii small towns and more than 600 regular .u-uomera.
