The Oould lssu.1 and Lehigh Valler attracted most atentlon In the stock market. The advance 14 Le high Vallfy was confined and apparently was baatrd on the belief that some action soon may be taken In regard to an extra distribution to shareholders. The quotation was advanced to H6V the highest prlos on record, although profit-taking later re durod thla gain. Among the Gould securities trading was heavy In the 'U'abash 4 per cent bonds. A demand for these developed late and they r"M nearly S points to aa compared with to earlier In the week. The preferred stock also advanced. Denier & Rio Grande securities showed pronounced weakness early, but later rallied sharply. On the recovery the S per cent bonda lumped from i to i. The market showed the enstomary symp toms with a triple holiday at hand. Trad ing was on a small acale and final chanses were Inconsequential In most cases. Home of the copper shares declined after Jhelr recent advances, and American Woolen showed weaknesa which reflected the recom mendation for a reduction of the tariff on wool and woolens.
