The rise today reached 2c to 4c making a total gain of more than 20c in the last few weens. Scarcely any of the grain is to be had and there has developed sharp competition be tween maltsters and brought about a boom excelling anything of the kind previously known In the trade. Collapse of the dry weather flurry about wheat came today. The fact was authori tatively pointed out that the rainfall on whicn the Spring crop depends does not arrive, aa a rule, until after April 1. In consequence, the market closed U0c lower to a shade higher than last night. May closed steady. Eugene & Eastern Rail way of this fact, in order that the com pany may finish their franchise, which calls for a carline over the street to be, paved.
