L. Gilman presided and announced the object of the meeting. Mr. Gilman also said that a committee composed of Dr. R. N. Tuttle. Dr. R. Nichols, P. P. Dabney. J. A. Barn ford, S. I X. Gilman and H. F. Hodges had held a conference with Postal In spector W. R. Hinman and Postmaster Minto. It was learned that it is pro posed to do away with the Mount Tabor Postofflce and deliver mail from either the Sunnyeide or the Montavllla postal stations. The Postofflce officials informed the committee that owing to a reduction in the Postofflce appropriation, it would be necessary to reduce the cost of the serv ice, and the discontinuance of the Mount Tabor office was in the line of economy. It was represented to Mr. Hinman and Mr. Minto. said Mr. Gilman, that the removal of the Mount Tabor office would greatly injure that district. At the con ference Brubaker & Normandin, in whose building the postofflce is located, sub mitted a proposition that may result in the office being retained. Mr. Hinman asked that the proposition be submitted in writing, which will be done. After hearing this report the meeting last night indorsed the action of the com mittee and adopted a resolution repre senting that it would damage Mount Tabor to lose th Postofflce. This was signed by all present, and will be sub mitted to Mr. Hinman.
