Johnson was unloading wood from a wagon operated by an automatic unload ing device which is turned by an iron crank. While turning the crank handle, it flew out of his hand and the great weight of the loaded wagon bed pressing down on '.he mechanism sent it back ward with terrific force. It struck John son in the face, breaking his nose and other bones and frightfully disfiguring him. Bleeding and uncon scious he was carried to the Good Samaritan Hospital, where it was an nounced that, although in a serious con dition, he probably would not die from his injuries. The German family always has used this gate, having no other alternative save climbing the fence, to which the women objected.
