A6 Hood River News, Saturday, May 30, 2015 O bituaries Jensen brothers speak June 13 at WAAAM Paid notices Idamae Doyle Idamae Doyle, 86, passed away May 22, 2015, in her home. She was born June 20, 1928, to Edwin and Della Shertenleib. She received her diploma in Santa Cruz, Calif., as a teleprinter operator for the Western Union in April of 1946. Idamae Idamae Doyle was married to Robert T. Doyle for 43 years. During that time they owned and operated a small diner in Meachum, Ore., until they moved to Hermiston, Ore., and had two children, Rick and Jim. After moving to Por tland, she became a member of several square dance clubs. She was an ac- tive member of the church of Athey Creek Christian Fellowship. During her retirement she enjoyed traveling with her husband. She also had several hobbies and enjoyed helping loved ones and friends. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. A funeral service will be held for Idamae at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 30, at Ander- son’s Tribute Center. Inter- ment will follow at Idlewil- de Cemetery, 980 Tucker Road, Hood River. David Dockham David Henry Dockham passed away quietly in his sleep at Hawks Ridge Assisted Liv- ing Commu- n i t y e a rl y Friday, May 22, 2015, in Hood River, O r e. D ave was born in David Medford, Dockham M a s s. , on June 29, 1936, to Percy Guy Dockham and Genevieve Bierhardt. He grew up in C a m b r i d g e, M a s s. , a n d graduated from Cambridge High and Latin School in the Class of 1954. He was the recipient of the City of Cambridge Scholarship for admittance to Harvard Uni- versity, where he graduated in the Class of 1958. He then went on to attend the Whar- ton School of the University of Pennsylvania - the busi- ness school of the Universi- ty. He soon moved to Port- land, Ore., and by 1967 was the executive assistant to the mayor at that time, Terry Shrunk. Later Dave served as the administrator of Hood River County from 1974-1977. The last working years of his life were spent at Sprint phone company as its forecaster, primarily forecasting future demand for phone services. In June of 1963 Dave mar- ried Sandra M. Bliven, of Salem, Ore., and their three children survive them both, M a r i ( s p o u s e Ro b e r t ) Brown, William and John Dockham. He also has a sur- viving “second daughter” whom he loved very much, Cathi Shriver. Dave was preceded in death by all three of his sib- l i n g s : E l i z ab e t h ( B e t t e ) Parker, John Dockham and Genevieve (Jane) Leonard. He had a great love for all of his family in Massachu- setts, New Hampshire and Pennsylvania. Despite the distance of many miles, Dave was closely connected with his seven East Coast nieces and their families. Dave was well-known to those around him for con- sistently advocating for those who couldn’t speak up for themselves. Most espe- cially for his son Bill, who has special needs. Dave was also well-known around the Hood River com- munity for his letters to the editor in the Hood River News. He was an avid read- e r, a fantastic de- bater/conversationalist and had a great love for both art and music. He also loved playing board/computer games with family mem- bers, Monopoly and Scrab- ble being among his fa- vorites. A service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 30, at Hawks Ridge, 1795 8th St. in Hood River, with inter- ment to follow at noon at Idlewilde Cemetery. The family requests do- nations be made in David’s name to either the Heart of Hospice, where he used to volunteer himself, or to the Hood River Library Foun- dation. Upon arriving, the deputy was advised that the male either jumped or was pushed from a moving vehi- cle. The driver was still on the scene. The male was transported to the Hood River hospital and later emergency transported to Emanuel in Portland with very serious head injuries. The female was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and reckless dri- ving. The male could not be interviewed due to his in- juries. The female was ad- vised that later charges of assault may occur after his interview. ■ Identity theft or bank/credit card fraud: M ay 2 1 — H o m e s t e ad Drive, 3600 block — Possible theft of tax return checks reported. ■ Motor vehicle crash- es, offenses and im- pounds: May 17 — Hood River — Female cited and released for the crime of giving false information about liability insurance after a traffic stop conducted for violation of the basic rule (64 mph in a posted 55). She also re- ceived citations for driving with a suspended license and driving uninsured. Her van was towed from the scene. May 20 — Hood River — Deputy investigated a sin- gle vehicle, non-injury traf- fic crash. May 24 — Hood River — Vehicle towed following a traffic stop for a lighting vi- olation.
