Performances are next weekend at Wy’east Performing Arts Center on the campus in Odell. The double-cast show in- cludes Kendra Wilkins, left, as Fiona, and Freya Chase as Shrek. Show dates: April 24, at 7 p.m., April 25 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. and April 26 at 2 p.m. Jennifer Graves directs the show. ‘Love Gone Wild’ talk April 23 Thunder Island Brewing is concluding its three-part Pacific Crest Trail Speaker series April 23 with “A Love Gone Wild.” Seth Conde and Amy Buglione share their story of getting engaged while through-hiking PCT in 2013. The talk starts at 6:30 p.m. Owner Dave Lipp said he is working on a summer series, including a sailing talk and another featuring films presented by Hood River au- thor Scott Cook. Columbia Center for the Arts and Columbia Gorge Dance Academy are proud to present for the 10th year, “Art of Movement,” a cele- bration of local dance on April 25 returns at Columbia Center for the Arts. “Art of Move- ment will celebrate with two perfor- mances at 4 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on April 25. T his event will showcase a wide range of dance and move- ment available in the Columbia Gorge. 2015 brings exciting new works from Co- lumbia Gorge Dance Academy’s Company Dancers, Scarlet This- tle Tribal Dancers, Lindy Hop, Salsa, Hip Hop, Tap, performance Yoga and more. Mountain Film Fest April 24-26 Hood River Mountain Film Festival, aka “Best of the Fest,” returns April 24-26 at Skylight Drafthouse Theater and Pub, presented by Mr. Elive Productions. Tickets are $20 for 12 adventure, environmental and adrenaline short films, ranging from 3 to 26 minutes. The festival features films from Vancouver International Mountain Film Fes- tival and Banff Film Festival. Selections include “Caleb,” voted top kayaking film of 2014, “Dream,” by Gorge film- maker Skip Armstrong and filmed on the White Salmon River, and the featured film, “Sufferfest 2.” Aaron Meyer show May 1 On Friday, May 1, at 7:30 p.m., violinist Aaron Meyer and guitarist Tim Ellis will perform with the Columbia Gorge Sinfonietta at the Hood River Middle School. Williams, an Oregon native, has become well known around the world after competing on "The Voice" with a fifth place finish. His performance at The Griffin House is part of William’s Northwest house concert tour.
