Mrs. Roy Eastman and Miss Emma Noble were among the party of young people who went to Parkdale Saturday to assist the packers in the Upper Valley with the strawberry crop. Mrs. Levy of Newark, N. J.. is spending the summer with her son, H. Clay Levy of this place. A. O. Adams spent Wednes day and Thursday in Portland attending the postmasters' con vention. Oscar Badder has returned from a week's visit in Portland. Mrs. C. L. Coke and daughter, Mary, are spending a few days with friends at Stevenson. Miss Teckla Vanstrom has re turned to her home after a visit of several weeks in Portland. Mrs. W. V. Hutchinson and daughters, Cornelia and Myra Adell, have returned from a visit to Portland. Miss Hannah Otsberg was pleasantly surprised Saturday evening hy a number ot her friends. Games were played and at a late hour refreshments were served. Everyone had a fine time. Mrs. Edna Cask made a flying trip to the Locks Sunday. Merle Yettick spent several days in Portlaud last week. Al Meyer is making extensive improvements on his home. Mrs. M. Francis Irwin, who has been teaching in the Allen Prepara tory School in Portland, returned home last week for the summer.
