At this writing he Is getting along nicely. H. A. Hussey Is making large ship ments of sjuahs lately at fancy prices and cannot Is-gln to supply the demand from the Cortland mar ket alone. Ills birds weigh nearly a quarter of a pound more than the average sijuab, or about 1 pounds. Mrs. Louis Thun, Mrs. Charles Wnlthers, Win. Kellendouk and Mrs. Dehart are on the sick list this week. K. C. Hamilton and H. W. Hamlin attended the Booster meeting at White Salmon Saturday. Most of our people are still travel ing with sleds, although the weather Is fjulte mild and warm. Dr. Amnion Davis of Newberg Is visiting his parents, Mr. nnd Mrs. .1. L. Davis. Mrs. Clara Jarvls and Mrs. .1. A. Hunt attended Frances E. Wlllard memorial services at Hood River Thursday. Sunday morning memorial services for Frances E. Wlllard were held at the church In Pine (irove. Mrs. Win. Kerr In her fine address paid a moet eloquent tribute to the life and char acter' of our great leader. Aiming the pleasant features In the program were several musical selections. A solo was rendered by Mrs. J. L.Davis with violin accompaniment by Mr. Davis, and singing by the choir of 13 voices. Pine (Jrove has reason to be very proud of the young people who so faithfully perforin their mission In the choir and w ho so freely respond to requests on special occasions. Miss Ktta Clark is organist. Not withstanding the bad condition of the roads there was a good cougre gatlon nnd the W. C. T. !'. feels grateful for the collection taken, which helps to strengthen the organ ization fund of the Woman's Chris tian Temperance Cnion throughout our nation. Thorn and Luella Hunt were appointed as committee to attend and report a meeting to ! held In Hood River for the purpose of discussing the advisa bility of placing before the public the question of consolidating schools at our next election.
