for Frances E. Wlllard were held at
the church In Pine (irove. Mrs. Win.
Kerr In her fine address paid a moet
eloquent tribute to the life and char
acter' of our great leader. Aiming
the pleasant features In the program
were several musical selections. A
solo was rendered by Mrs. J. L.Davis
with violin accompaniment by Mr.
Davis, and singing by the choir of 13
voices. Pine (Jrove has reason to be
very proud of the young people who
so faithfully perforin their mission In
the choir and w ho so freely respond
to requests on special occasions.
Miss Ktta Clark is organist. Not
withstanding the bad condition of
the roads there was a good cougre
gatlon nnd the W. C. T. !'. feels
grateful for the collection taken,
which helps to strengthen the organ
ization fund of the Woman's Chris
tian Temperance Cnion throughout
our nation.

Pine (irove grange held an Inter
esting meeting last Saturday evening
February l!th. In spite of the bad
roads nnd weather a goodly numls-r

dates were given the first and second
degrees, after which a sis-inl hour
was enjoyed by all.
The grange voted to Invite the
professors of the O. A. C. who have
offered to give a series of farmers' In
stitutes In the valley, to the grange
hall March th. A. I. Mason, H. M.
Vannier, Mrs. Taylor, Mrs. Cameron
and Mrs. Jarvls were appointed as
committee on arrangements for that
day. A. I. Mason. Mrs. D. H. Thorn
and Luella Hunt were appointed as
committee to attend and report a
meeting to ! held In Hood River for
the purpose of discussing the advisa
bility of placing before the public the
question of consolidating schools at
our next election.
The county convention will Is- held
at Pine (irove grange hall Saturday,

Mr. Bradley expects to move his
family to the (Jrlbble place soon so
he can attend to the shop.
John Cooper had two of their
horses sent down from the pasture
and met them at Hood River. They
were not looking the best either.
Jim Davidson weut to his home
stead and spent Saturday, but was
back on the east Bide ready for work

ture on agriculture and horticulture
