14 // COASTWEEKEND.COM Play date with Philosofarian! ASTORIA — Philoso- farian’s next Wit & Wis- dom Philosophy Talk, “Should We Play More?” with Gad Perez, takes place at 7 p.m. Thurs- day, March 28, at Fort George Brewery’s Lovell Showroom. We play in order to take a break, to have some fun or because we’re bored. Moreover, play is important in its own right, too. It is crucial to the cre- ative process, can open us to new possibilities and discoveries, and even help us achieve things that wouldn’t have been possi- ble if we hadn’t taken the time to be playful. But what are these things that are opened up? Does play have a dark side? Doors open at 6 p.m. Admission is free. The venue is at 1483 Duane St. The Illahee Apartments Alder Creek Farm, the heart of Nehalem conservation country.
