Tiny works, big talent at the Picture Attic LONG BEACH, Wash. — Miniature artwork is Jan- uary’s theme at the Picture Attic in Long Beach, Wash. Local artists are excited to show their skills in the tiny world. No piece will be larger than 8 by 10 inches, including the frame. The show’s opening takes place 2 to 6 p.m. Fri- day, Jan. 11, with light refreshments and artists in attendance to discuss and explain their work. The Picture Attic is a membership gallery with more than 15 members showing work in pastel, oil, watercolor and acrylic, as well as three-dimensional work in stained glass, bas- ketry, pottery and stone. New artists join in January to add even more depth to the selections. The gallery is at 711 Pacifi c North. Hours for the gallery are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sat- urday. The show will hang through January. Lutefi sk, O lutefi sk! and delicious Finnish and Scandinavian treats. Tickets are available at Finn Ware or One Six Five West Bond in Asto- ria. Advance reservations are recommended. ASTORIA — The Asto- ria Finnish Brotherhood Auxiliary invites lutefi sk lovers to join us for our annual Lutefi sk Dinner at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, at Suomi Hall. Open to the public this year, tickets are $25 for adults, $20 for seniors and $15 for anyone 12 and under. Admission includes an all-you-can-eat dinner of lutefi sk, and/or meat- balls, with all the trimmings. There will be music, a silent auction and raffl e baskets fi lled with Nordic treasures
