B3 THE DAILY ASTORIAN • FRIDAY, DECEMBER 28, 2018 Community Action Team offers Wickiup Senior Center homebuyer assistance program hosts New Year’s Eve party The Daily Astorian Community Action Team has a program to help fi rst- time homebuyers by provid- ing assistance with a down payment in Clatsop, Colum- bia and Tillamook counties. The assistance is in the form of a grant, and is appli- cable for closing costs and a down payment, up to $15,000. There are income eligi- bility and area loan limit requirements for the down payment assistance pro- gram. The participant must qualify as a fi rst time home buyer who has not held title on a property within a three- year period at the time of closing. Additional require- ments include, at no charge to program participants: eight-hour ABC’s of Home- buying workshop, eight hours of one-on-one housing counseling, and two hours of fair housing training. Program funding is pro- vided fi rst come, fi rst served, based on readiness to pro- ceed and as funding allows. The intake packet to be completed includes: a bud- get sheet, fi nancial work- sheet, privacy policy/con- fl ict of interest disclosure, authorization for release of information, and home own- ership program responsibili- ties and expectations.
