Diane Tiedeman is board president , having previously served as treasurer. She has served on various boards in Clatsop County for the past 10 years, and is also a past chairwoman of the Astoria Music Festival Board. Tiede- man replaces Christine Lolich. Miriam Rose has been elected as treasurer, having previously served as vice president. A retired senior vice president of HSBC Bank, she also served on the Berkeley Repertoire The- atre Board in Berkeley, California. Ann Lederer remains as secretary. She is a retired lawyer and is the exec- utive director of the Clatsop Court Appointed Special Advocates. Four new directors have been added to the b oard in the last few months. Graham Nystrom, the station man- ager of Coast Community Radio, was appointed in September, and has since joined the newly formed Build- ing Committee to oversee the Liber- ty’s upcoming renovation plans. Ellen Frye was appointed to the board in October. She is a retired music educa- tor and technical writer and is the host of “World of Bach” on Coast Commu- nity Radio. Ted Osborn was also appointed in October . A retired architect and for- mer board member of the Alex The- atre in Glendale, California, Osborn is the chairman of the Building Com- mittee. Bonnie Callow was appointed in November . She formerly worked on the educational committee for the redevelopment of the Fox Theatre in Pomona, California. Other continuing b oard members are Israel Nebeker, Michael Angiletta, Janet Niemi, Richard Seppa and Jack Larsen. Washington State Parks offers free First Day Hikes The Daily Astorian ILWACO, Wash. — Washington State Parks invites the public to start the new year off with a First Day Hike on Tuesday at nearly 40 state parks , including at Cape Disappointment State Park. Meet at 10 a.m. at the North Head Lighthouse parking lot to hike the 1-mile Lighthouse Keepers Loop Trail with an interpretive specialist. Learn the history of the lighthouse and residence grounds, and tack on an optional extension with a walk along the Bell’s View trail. It is the fi rst of 12 Washington State Parks free days taking place in the coming year. Park visitors will not need to dis- play the Discover Pass on vehicles to access state parks for the New Year’s Day activities or for other state park visits on free days.
