Astoria Warming Center — 1076 Franklin Ave. Winter overnight emergency shelter for homeless persons needs volunteers for three- hour shifts from evening through the night to help with welcoming guests, serving dinner, cleaning the kitchen, monitoring the sleep- ing area overnight, and closing the shelter in the morning. Wauna Credit Union awards scholarships to students The Daily Astorian CLATSKANIE — To wrap up the 2017-18 school year, financial cooperative Wauna Credit Union (WCU) has awarded $11,500 in scholarships to WCU stu- dent members in Columbia and Clatsop counties. The scholarship recipients were selected based on GPA, com- munity involvement and their need for financial assistance. The scholarships range from $500 to $1,500 each.
