3B THE DAILY ASTORIAN • FRIDAY, JUNE 22, 2018 Registration is open for Camp Kick-A-Lot Amateur radio club event set for Saturday in Gearhart The Daily Astorian The Daily Astorian GEARHART — The Sunset Empire Amateur Radio Club and the city of Gearhart are presenting an Emergency Communications Outreach and Field Day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at the corner of Pacific Way and North Marion Avenue in downtown Gearhart. The event includes a day of games, food, fun and spe- cial activities for children and adults. Everyone has a chance to talk on the radio to other local and foreign amateur radio operators, see operational displays of dif- ferent types of emergency radio gear and participate WARRENTON — It’s time to sign the kids up for Camp Kick-A-Lot at the Warrenton Soccer Complex, 1100 N.W. Ridge Road in Warrenton. The camp is a unique opportunity for kids entering first through eighth grades to learn about soc- cer, practice skills, dress up in costumes and have a lot of fun. “It’s all about the kids,” camp director Justin Gag- non said. That was Jerry Boisvert’s motto when he started the camp 22 years ago. Gagnon plans to carry on the tradition and honor the legacy of Boisvert, who died in January. There are two sessions. Session 1 is from 2 to 5 p.m. July 16 to 20; Session 2 is from 4 to 7 p.m. July 23 to 27. Registration is $75 for one session, or $120 for both sessions until June 30.
