South Pacific County Humane Society PROGRAM OVERVIEW South Pacific County Humane Society (SPCHS) administers an array of programs to address the problem of homeless pets. These programs provide a continuum of services for preventing pet homelessness and caring for and re-homing pets in need. • SPCHS finds forever homes for stray and surrendered cats and dogs in South Pacific County and provides them shelter, food, socialization, vaccinations, spay/neuter, and medical care until their forever home is found. • SPCHS assists low-income households in caring for their pets with a voucher program for low-cost spay/neuters and with a pet food program. • SPCHS supports humane management of feral cat colonies with loaning of feral cat traps for TNR and a $7.50 spay/neuter program. • SPCHS provides licensing of pets for the cities of Long Beach and Ilwaco. • SPCHS provides education and support for pets in neglected situations. • SPCHS provides boarding on a limited basis as space is available. FUNDRAISING EVENTS: SPCHS has several fundraising events for supporting the cats and dogs at the shelter. Our largest fundraiser is the BIG RAFFLE with large cash or item prizes. Tickets are sold from May through October with the big drawing at the end of October. Other fundraising events are the Memorial Weekend Grrrrage Sale, Fore! The Furballs Golf Tournament in mid-May, and the Santa Paws Photo Day the first Saturday of December at the Dennis Company in Long Beach. Throughout the year we have smaller fundraising events, online campaigns, and events at the shelter. CORPORATE GIVING OPPORTUNITIES: SPCHS welcomes all corporate giving, including membership, cash and in-kind donations of items needed for the shelter. We are extremely appreciative of the support we receive from our community. SPONSORSHIPS: SPCHS has many sponsorships for supporting the shelter. Join our Sandbox Club and sponsor a month of cat litter for $250. Memorialize a pet or special person for $100 with a plaque displayed at the shelter. Kennel sponsorships are available for $100 with a plaque displayed on the kennel for one year. Other sponsorships include sponsoring one of our pets, an adoption, a spay/neuter, or making a contribution to the Homeless Pet Medical Fund. SPCHS would like to give a special thanks to Lighthouse Realty for sponsoring our page in “Giving Back”.
