Watch standers at Sector Columbia River in Warren- ton received a mayday call from the captain of the Coastal Reign at 3:20 a.m. saying the vessel was taking on water from an unknown location after striking a submerged object. The Coast Guard launched an air crew aboard an MH-60 Jayhawk from Air Sta- tion Astoria and 47-foot motor lifeboats from Station Cape Disappointment near Ilwaco, Washington. The crew aboard one of the motor lifeboats passed a pump to the Coastal Reign and a crew member to help set it up. One of the motor lifeboats towed the vessel to Warrenton Marina by 4:40 a.m. A Captain of the Port order was placed on the Coastal Reign, which must be repaired and pass inspection by the Coast Guard before operating again.
