Knappa had 13 hits to Neah-Kah-Nie’s four, and WKH 3LUDWHV FRPPLWWHG ¿YH errors, while two runs by the /RJJHUV LQ WKH ¿UVW LQQLQJ held up for the victory, Knap- pa’s 47th straight win in league play. Logger sophomore starter Dale Takalo allowed four hits in four innings of work, with 10 strikeouts. Michal Goodman came on in relief LQ WKH ¿IWK DQG SLWFKHG WKH ¿QDOWKUHHLQQLQJVZLWKIRXU strikeouts, and no hits or walks allowed. Logan Bartlett, Colton Weirup, Jason Miller, Reuben Cruz and Kinney all had two hits apiece for the Loggers, who host a doubleheader with Neah-Kah-Nie Friday. No details were reported. Estacada 13, Seaside 5 SEASIDE — The Seaside softball team returned to action after a week off, and Estacada posted a 13-5 upset over the Gulls at Broadway Field. No details were reported. Knappa pounds Pirates, 17-1 The Daily Astorian ROCKAWAY BEACH — The Knappa softball team snapped a six-game losing skid with a 17-1 vic- tory at Neah-Kah-Nie Tues- day, in a Northwest League opener. Sophomore pitcher Paris Vanderburg allowed just two hits with eight strikeouts and two walks. Kaitlyn Truax led the Logger offensive attack by going 3-for-3 with two doubles and six runs batted in. Freshman Hannah Hell- burg had a triple, and Knappa took advantage of numerous walks in the victory.
