Thursday’s action at Hayward Field in Eugene included mostly prelim- inary races on the track, with a few field event fi- nals. In the Class 3A portion of the meet, Warrenton se- nior Bryton Kyme scored two points for the Warriors by finishing seventh in the shot put, with a toss of 43 feet, 10 ¼ inches. Team- mate Eli Petersen was ninth (42-7 ¼). Warrenton’s Libby Biel placed 11th in the long jump final, with a leap of 14-5 ¼. Several more Warren- ton and Knappa athletes have qualified for today’s finals, including Loggers Devin Lewis Allen and Devin Vandergriff, and Warrenton hurdler Macen Fritz. Warrior Chris Ocana will be competing in the 3A high jump and javelin, along with Kyme in the discus. The action continues to- day at Hayward Field with all finals at the 3A, 2A and 1A levels, and finals and preliminaries for 4A, 5A and 6A athletes.
