The longer I'm here the more I owe and this lady holds my trunk until I pay. So one hundred dollars Is necessary to get my tmnnk, some thing to eat and pay lodging. In these two weeks I have suffered ter rible. Yes, I hear from my sister and when I got the letter, the land lady stood there and looked 'at me cross, then she got 84 and I got $1 Till that money comes and saves me. Oh, had I not had your promise. I should bunt (God for give me) my death. Yes, Mr. Palmgreen was good, heavenly good, but a good friend had brought him into this bad luck and the only way we can be happy Is that I must come to you. Mr. Palmgreen will come to his senses, take his busi ness in New Orleans again and then come to Oregon. He is without money, too, but can bring himself throunh.
