Work ing dally, he attracted tho attention of his neighbors, tho Andersons, un til one morning, about four weeks ago, Mrs, Anderson noticed that the work on the house had ceased. She In formed William Hammond, who Is associated with Mr. Cross, and Mr. Hammond made some Investigations, finding that HJelsing had left his tools under a door In the yard, as though he Intended to return very soon. Mr. Cross Inquired at many places In Oregon Clly for whorea limits of the missing man, but could secure no Information, and he com menced to entertain fears for the safety of HJelsing, which culminated In that thought that the body of the man found las! Salurday near Milwau kee might bo HJelsing. ' Saturday morning, however, Mr. CroHS resumed his Investigations and found HJelsing at the Willamette Hotel.
