There were over 100 present when the meeting was called to or der. The St. Johns band was on hand to enliven the occasion with inspiring music. President Rogers in a neat steecli gave the history of the club, its object, he work in hand and the results it expected to accomplish. Kev. RESOLUTION Notice is hereby given that at the meeting of the City Council of the City of St. Johns, Oregon, held on the 24 1 h day of July, A. D. 1906, the following resolution was adopted. Rltsot.VKn: That tlie Council of the Citv of Si. Johns, Oregon, deem it ex pedlent anil nronoses to iumrove Oiwceo street in said City of St. Johns by build ing sidewalks along both side of said street, from south line of Portland Itoul evard to Dawson street, according to grade, Such improvement of Oswego street shall consist of sidewalks four (4) feet wide, and to lie made of two (3) inch plank and three (O four bv four stringers, also curb plank three by four teen laid ten feet from property line and made in accordance with the charter and ordinances of the City of St. Johns, and tue piaus, specifications anil estimates 01 the city engiueer, filed in the office of -the Recorder of the City of St. Johns. The cost of said improvement of said Oswego street to tie assessed as provided by the city charter upon tlie property stiecially and peculiarly benefitted thereby and which is hereby declared to be all the lots, parts thereof, and parcels of land within a line 100 feet from the outside Jine of each side of said Oswego sireei. The encineer's estimate of theprolable cost for the improvement of the said Oswego street is f 3,369.43. The plans, specifications and estimates of the Citv Knetneer for the improve ment of said Osweeo street arc herebv adopted. Rksolvkd: That the Citv Recorder of the City of St. Johns be. and is. hereby directed to give notice of the proposed improvement of said Osweto street as .provided by the City Charter.
