Chris Ehret will soon be as much of a rancher as any of us. He has filed on a homestead. The premium list for the Des chutes Valley Fair is Wing revised and will soon be in shape for the printer. Mr. Covert and Mr. Gibson were each hunting stray colts last week. It's a cold day when there are not several fishing parties passing here on their way to the river. The last few days luck has been only moderate owing to weather condftions. Today we were treated to quite a rain and sleet storm. The ground was quite white for a little while. It will be a reat help to small grain, though it was rather cool for some of the vegetables. E. C. Park. Redmond. May 20, t)7. Died. On Monday May 20, UX)7, Mr. Nancy McCallister, widow of James T. McCallister, aged 62 years. Tha deceased lived on the Mc Kay, about ten miles from Prine ville. She was born in Illinois July 22, 1S45, and was married to James T. McCallister in 1861. To this union there were born five children three girls and two boys. Two boys and two girls survive her Clarence F., Sylvander D., Edith M., of Prineville and Mrs. Victoria E. White, of Eugene. Mrs. McCal lister was a woman of devout char acter and at an early age united with the Church of Christ.
