The Celtics started the game on a 12-2 run, thanks to fi ve quick points from Doutt, a pair of buckets by Grimmer and a 3-pointer from Kennedy Buss. McNary took a 13-6 lead into the second quarter and eventually extended the lead to 13 after two more baskets by Grimmer. Kenzie Proctor knocked down a shot moments later, but Bend got the defi cit down to 21-11 before the half — it was the least amount of points McNary has given up in a half during league play. After Grimmer started the third quarter with another hoop to put herself in double-fi gures, the Lava Bears responded with an 8-0 run to get themselves within four. But a pair of free throws by Grimmer and two 3-pointers from Doutt allowed the Celtics to get back in con- trol with an 8-0 run of their own. The Celtics began the fourth quarter with a 31-22 advantage. Bend cut the lead down to fi ve with 4:04 left in the fi nal peri- od. Fortunately for the Celtics, Doutt was able to seal the win with her play on both sides of the court. With 2:11 left in the game and McNary clinging to a 36- 31 lead, Doutt nailed her fourth triple of the contest.
