In case you need any, a vendor will be on hand selling such items. There were some com- plaints after last year’s parade from those at the end of the route, saying the parade ended early. Mitchell said that wasn’t the case, but steps have been taken anyway to clarify the is- sue. New signs are up this year and were expected to be in place by Dec. 10. Parade organizers estimate that around 80,000 people fi ll River Road each year to catch a glimpse of the parade. River Road is expected to start reopening for traf- fi c around 9 p.m. as the pa- rade continues southbound through the city. Police are asking for side- walks along River Road to be kept clear of chairs until the parade starts so that disabled citizens can travel on the side- walks.
