the glowing theme, Mitchell
is encouraging parade goers
to dress in glow-in-the-dark
attire. In case you need any, a
vendor will be on hand selling
such items.
There were some com-
plaints after last year’s parade
from those at the end of the
route, saying the parade ended
early. Mitchell said that wasn’t
the case, but steps have been
taken anyway to clarify the is-
sue. New signs are up this year
and were expected to be in
place by Dec. 10.
Parade organizers estimate
that around 80,000 people fi ll
River Road each year to catch
a glimpse of the parade.
River Road is expected
to start reopening for traf-
fi c around 9 p.m. as the pa-
rade continues southbound
through the city.
Police are asking for side-
walks along River Road to be
kept clear of chairs until the
parade starts so that disabled
citizens can travel on the side-
walks.
For more information on
the parade, visit www.folholi-
dayparade.org or see the Keiz-
ertimes’ holiday guide.

six years. The Walkers recently
announced they have started a
new West Coast League team,
the Gresham Grey Wolves.
Neither of the Walkers at-
tended Monday’s meeting,
since Jerry was out of town
at baseball meetings and Lisa
was home sick. Lisa did send
a short message to councilors
prior to the meeting.
“We pray for a positive
outcome,” she wrote. “Thank
you for all you do.”
