Attorney W. H. Brooke of Ontario, Republican nominee for the office of District Atorney. was a countv seat visitor Tuesday on legal business. A. McAllister, of Condon, spent several days in the city the past week. J. M. Randelman was In town from Westfall this week to attend circuit court. Wm. Stephens, of Ontario, was among the large number of visitors in the county seat this week. A. B. Azcuenaga, of Boise, and one of the big sheepmen of the Jor dan Valley country, was a county seat visitor the fore part of the week. Mr. Azcuenaga was here to look after some business interest, having recent ly been made a defendant in a dam age suit filed by Frank Rios of Jor dan Valley. Nyssa people in the city the fore part of the week were F. H. Rigsby, F. H. Lockwood and George E. Ward. Edwin Wilson of Owyhee country was here this week. Miss Wilmath Curry, of Ontario, a former teacher of the Vale schools, was the guest of Mrs. S. D. Taylor last Saturday and Sunday. Jas. Lawrence returned on Monday Morning from a short visit in Ontario. Joe Boyer, a rancher of the Jun tura country, and a former resident of this city, was in town the past attending circuit court. Joe Wagner, the potato king of Brogan, left on Saturday for Boise and on passing through Vale stated to an Enterprise reporter that he was about to spring a surprise on his friends. The issuing of a marriage license in Boise on Monday to Joseph Wagner of Brogan and Miss Constance Shoup of Boise, reveals the culmina tion of a' short and happy romance which took place while the Shoups had charge of the Willow Inn at Brogan some months ago. President S. M. Stewart, of the Brogan bank, was in Vale Saturday on his way to Boise. President A. E. Andrews, of the Willow River project, whose head quarters are in Boise, was a Vale visitor between trains Saturday and reported much work going on through the Willow River valley. Hundreds of acres of new land are being placed into cultivation and the valley is Iook ine better than ever with splendid prospects for large crops this year. Georee H. Bodfish, the Malheur City merchant, paid Vale a visit the fore part of the week. V. Caufield, of Happy Valley, was in town during circuit court. A. 0. Harris, right-of-way agent of the Oregon Eastern railroad build nir west of this city, arrived in town Sunday to be present at the Thebaud condemnation case which was tried Monday and Tuesday in the local cir cuit court. L. H. Hockley was in the city this week from his home in the Mormon Basin. Miss Belle Gilkey drove down from Beulah last Saturday to attend to some business matters in this city. Frank Cole, of Burns, agent of the Hello?? staee company at this place, was a Vale visitor Saturday and paid visit to Agent Smith of the local stage office. S. A. Jones of Arlington visited in Vale this week. Sheriff Lon Richardson of Burns was defeated in the primaries by Sid Comegys by 44 votes. Goodman is the Republican nominee defeating Frank Cole by 95 votes. Frank finnan, also well-known here, was chosen as the Republican candidate for County Surveyor of Harney, r.haa. Flvnn returned to Jamieson on Tuesday's train after a few days' visit with the home folk in this city. Attornev McGonagill, of Ontario, spent several days in town this week as attorney in several criminal cases. Dick DeArmond was a Vale visitor Tuesday. VALE AGAIN WINS OVER ONTARIO CLUB By Score of 8 to 4 Local Grammar School is too Much for Congregational Club Team of Ontario Fans see Good Game on Vale Diamond Vale again won another baseball game from Ontario on last Saturday when the Grammer school team of this city defeated the Congregational Club team of Ontario by the score of 8 to 4. From the very start the game was an easy victory for the local team and the visitors could have easily been shut out. Considerable rivalry was exhibited throughout the entire game and the large number of fans who witnessed the exhibition enjoyed the trouncing given the Ontario Cubs.
