THE CHEMAWA AMERICAN 7 CLOSING EXERCISES (Fort Sinicoe Indian School) School closed Friday; June 26, with very enjoyable ceremonies. Every thing passed off smoothly, and with credit to both teachers and pupils. A specially interesting exhibit was No. 8, in which the cooking class made several pans of biscuits on the stage, baked them to perfection and distributed them among the spectators before the pro gram was completed. The sewing class, No. 15, finished an apron, sewed on buttons to clothes and darned stockings to the music of our excellent brass band of 12 pieces. The final tableau, ''Salute to the Flag,"' comprised 50 girls with beautiful silk flags of all the nations, standing at "Salute" - with a large Ameri can flag in the center of the foreground, while the band played uThe Star Spangled Banner." It was a beautiful picture and was highly applauded. The Yakima School is very prosperous and has a fine lot of pupils, with an enrollment of 134. The chapel was crowded Monday evening to witness the entertainment given by the pupils of the first grade, under the direction of Miss Dohse. To say that the youngsters acquitted them selves creditably is stating it mildly. From all sides the verdict was that they were simply splendid.
