Miss Woods being entire ly unaware of their intention, un til the arrival of the party, gave evi dence of a genuine surprise, which af forded much amusement to the self-invited guests. Some young men from Salem, were among the number, and dis covered the presence of a Seeress. This discovery becoming known, her occult knowledge was in immediate demand by those whose curiosity as to what the dim future held in store, made them ob livious to all but the(more or less) prophetic words of the grifted Seeress. Delicious refreshments were served by the young ladies. Mr. Woods expressed the wish that his daughter's birthdays might be of more frequent occurrence. After some short and interesting 'toasts" congratulations were extended to Miss Woods and all took leave of their charming hostess.
