6 THE CHEMAWA AMERICAN lb l et ic s A BASKETBALL GAME Last Saturday evening, while the first team was receiving a drubbing at the hands of the Albina Club at Port land, a number of boys under the leader ship of Thomas McCully went to the gymnasium and organized two teams, composed for the most part of boys who had never engaged in a game of basket ball. Those of you who think you have seen a basket-ball game would think differently if you could see these two teams play. Of course the fine: points of the game were lost sight of, but never theless those who witnessed the ex hibition say that no two teams ever played harder than these boy. Michael Wilson can be seen: every evening training for the five mile race. Charles Walton is now training for the long-distance relay race. Thomas Fleury. is now training for the fifty-mile relay race. Tie says that he can easily be one of the runners. V. F. The Big Z basketball team of Chema wa will challenge any other basketball team on the grounds. , M. W. , We had a very - interesting baseball game: last Saturday afternoon- between the first and second teams. J. W. Seven hundred and twenty-seven .allottees at Pine Ridge Agency will receive this summer the articles promised under the Sioux Treaty of some years ago. . There will b issued 6380 heifers, 8i 6 mares, 816 milk cows, 816 sets of harness, 408 wagons and 408 each of plows, harrows, rakes and other farm implements. Three hundred and nine teen allottees have petitioned for, and been allowed to take; 20 heifers each, in lieu of other articles to which they were entitled-Weekly Review:
