Mrs Ross Preston, wife of Super
intendent Preston, of Colony, Oklahoma,
died on January 22, at Wyando tte, I. T.
Mrs. Preston was formerly Miss Johnson.
Miss Grace Allingham, formerly din
ing room matron here has resigned her
position as Domestic Science teacher at
Chilocco, and is now at Peck, Kansas.
Mr. R. P.Stanion, superintendent of the
Arapaho boarding School, Darlington, Ok
lahoma,has been transferred te the Rose
bud agency South Dakota.
Mr. Shively, engineer at the White
Earth boarding school and Miss Everett
the cook, were married recently.
Mr. John W.Carl, a graduate of Haskell
is the first auditor of thp new country of
Mahnomen, Minnesota. The Chippeway
Herald says it is a responsible position,
but it feels that Mr. Carl will rill it with
honor.
Mr. August A. Breuninger has resigned
his position a bandmaster at Mount
Pleasant; Michigan, and has gone to
Shawano, Wisconsin, to go into business
for himself.
A former Haskell pupil, who has been
a teacher for a number of years. Miss
Minnie Schiffbauer was married during
the holidays to r. J. J. Morris. Mrs.
Morris is now a teacher at Pine Ridge,
South Dokota.--Indian Leader.
Julia DeCora, Nomal graduate of '98,
now seamstress at the Klamath Agency
school in Oregon, writes of the kind
friends she has fouud there and thus de
scribes her surroundng.
We are situated in a beautiful valley
with the mountains all around, and Mt.
Shasta is to be seen south of us. We
have plenty of trout and ducks. The
streams here are as clear as crystal and
ice cold. We have pines laller than those
in New Kngland. The Klamath? are very
progressive and there are no blankets
worn even by the women. They wear hats
and act like any other intellgent people.

Indian school at Mt. Pleasant, Mich; was
married on November 12, at her home,
Shawano, Wis., toMr. C. A. Pedersen, a
graduate of the Madison Agricultural Col
Ige and now head farmer at Mt. Plea
sant where the young conple make their
home Phoebe Stevens and Isaiah Reed,
both ex student of Hampton' were mar
ied at Hobart Church, Oneida, Wis., De
cember 29. A receptiont was given at the
Oneida Govenment School where the for
mer has been an assistant a number of

Inspector A. M. Tinker has returned
to Rosebud agency from "Msseton, to
comqlete his work here.
Supervisor Holland left Thursday for
Yuma after pleasant visit of two weeks.
All the school, people will be pleased to
have him return soon.
An elegant bunch of red radishes was
received from the school house, marked
the firs crop grown by the pupils of
room eight. Native American.
A letter recenty from north Dakota
stated that they failed to get mail for
three weeks on account of the severe
snow storms.
. Our former Assistant Superintendent's
wife,Mrs.E. A.Allen and daughter Es
ther were the guests of Mrs.C. L.Davis
in north Dakota and the school for two
weeks. Mrs. Allen likes North Dakota
and the climate likes her. Ex.
