Miss Hntchinson is taking Spanish at
the Willamette.
Mr. "Chalifone of Wilbur, Oregon, visit
ed Ohemawa this week.
Several employes and pupils attended
the play in Salem, Monday night.
Hon. Frank E. Davey, and his wife
and daughter were Chemawa guests on
Sunday.
Miss Eithel Frizzell and others of
Salem were visitors at Chemawa last Sat
urday. Miss Irene Howard of Salem spent
Saturday with her sister Miss Frances
Howard at Chemawa.
Miss. Gertrude A. Vaughn, the new
nurse, arrived from Parker, S. D. and
entered upon duty on the 19th.
Some of the ladies were in town look
ing at the new spring midget hats and
Hooligan caps. Easter bonnets are not
yet out.
Miss Hutchinson attended a banquet
;iven by tile Eastern Star in Salem
Tuesday evening.
Miss Weller of Salem has the follow
ing piano pupils: Miss Ella, and Katie
Brewer, Alice Chaleraft, Miss Hutchin
son, Jones and Lalor.
Mr. R. A. Perry, temporary engineer,
lift fur the General Hospital the Presi
dio, at San Francisco, Cal. where he has
been appointed in the Marine Service.
David High Penny and Simon Mat
thews are the two new pupils entered
lately from the Nez Perce reservation.
Mr. and Mrs. Campbell, the 7th grade
and Miss Lalor and Miss Jones visited
the legislature last week.

Miss Skipton together with her sister
Mrs. Armstrong who has been visiting
her from Wallace, Idaho, spent Satur
day and Sunday with their father in
Salem. Saturday was his 78th birth
day and the re-union of the family of
father, his two sons and two daughters
has been the first for several years.
Louis Scott died last Thursday and
the funeral services were held in the
school chapel the next day. Though not
a member of the Y. M. C. A. he was a
very good boy and recongnized by ill
who knew him to be a good Christian
boy.
