8 THE CHEMAWA AMERICAN gospel, He was a myth. I have met boys and girls older and larger than you who knew nothing about Him. This Jesus is the son of the living God, Himself. He came here upon this earth for what pur pose? He came to bring the joys of Heaven down to poor creatures, just as you and I are, and your forefathers and your forefathers and mine. "He walked this earth for thirty-three years, and then paid the purchased price of your soul and mine on Mt Calvary. You marvel at the miracle he performed when he took five loaves and fed 5000 men women and children; and a few fishes and in like manner multiplied them by His ' only word. Can He not increase, He, who is God the Creator? and children, God creates everything; if you but stop and re- ' floct a moment, everything you possess comes directly or indirectly from the hand of God. Man creates nothing, Man simply fashions and molds things. The materials come from the great Creator Can man make wheat grow and sprout and ripen? Not at all. It is done by the hand of the Omnipotent God, who oreated it. It was then ground into flour and bread made, but it was still wheat, and God then bless ed this material and consequently fed ' these 5000 men, as well as the women and children. "This Jesus came for no other purpose than to save our souls. How was he to do it? God the Father sent him here and He. brought Heaven's graces with hitn. He established a society, He gathered a certain number of men about Him and told them, you are to go out into the whole world and preach to the people. That is what he told those mon, His Apos tles. You have heard of the Apostles. They formed the first great society of Christians, He gathered them around Him and gave them the doctrines of Heav en, "The Father sent Me, and I send you." The Father sent me with all power, and this power I give to you, go out to the whole world and preach this doctrine, and the living Christ shall be with you until the end of time, and he loaded down that message with Heaven's graces. He told his apostiles to go out into the world and preach this gospel to every living crea ture. He who believes and is baptized is saved. '"That is the message from Jesus. He who believes and is baptized, he tells us, enters into his society, which was established to blot out that age of pagan ism, that age in which man knows Dot his God, nor why he was created. Therefore, children, when this baptism is received, it gives the soul the right to enter into tne society with JesuB Christ himself, receives. And all those who will not receive it will be lost, that is, shall never have the rigbt to enter into the home in the skies and love Him and serve Him, He tells as bis society is not of the earth, it is of Heareo. He tells us furthermore, that we must keep the Commandments of Hod, and that we must receive His flesh and blood, and he tells us what we should do if we should happen to break a Commandment. We muBt keep the Command mentis he told the young man who. met him on the highroad traveling to Judea, bef ore he went Heaven. They saw him raise the dead, they saw him give strength to the palsied limbs, sight to the eyes, hearlne; to th deaf ears and speech to the dumh tonpie. and when they heard and saw all this, i young man, anxious, one day to be with him in Heaven, in that society He has h tablished, waited for him and said, Master, teach me what I must do in order to my soul" and what did the Master ftf I My dear young man, if yon wish one dij I to dwell with me to save your soul uxi I have eternal life, "keep the Command f ments of God." Now, children, there ' I no use of preaching unless weexaniiw our consciences, that is, apply the woni- i of the Holy Scriptures to our own soul j Are you keeping the Commandment r'j commandments are. God gave them j Mt. Sinai to Moses. Some men will i you now-a-days that he never (tare i pm I mandment. Who are they to contwJ:' i the living God? Who are these men ( women who dare to say that God did i',' do this and that? j (Continued next week.)
