Gardner, ’08 O u r association year begins the first of A pril, to allow the new officers to become accustom ed to their work be fore the opening of college in the fall. L ast y e a r’s work was along lines laid out in the association policy. F ollow in g is a general statem en t of the re su lts accom plished in each departm ent except B oys’ d ep artm en t, which ap pears elsew here: It has been the policy of the associa tion to give an invitation to every man in the U niversity io en ter Bible study. L ast sp rin g a thorough canvass was m ade. Last Septem ber and O ctober, the freshm en were urged to join clas ses. T he results are encouraging be cause of the steady grow th in a tte n d ance. Five classes have been conduct- By m eans ol stag and Jo in t socials, banquets and Bible study picnics the association gets the stu d en ts to g eth er through the year at convenient tim es for a pleasant social hour. M eetings are held weekly and are aimed to supply a place w here men m ay come and enter into an hour of praise and w orship to God. 1 liese m eetings should be taken advantage of by all the men of the U niversity. Few stu d en ts hav applied for work this year. ( if those that have, several have secured em ploym ent th ro u g h Mr. Lym an, the general secretary. T he Book Exchange has a good su p ply of second-hand books for next year. A nyone w ishing to dispose'of second hand books th at will be used next year can do so by leaving them in the Book E xchange. T he Y. M. C.
