Constitution and Bylaws Unanimously Adopted! Nominations opened for Local 99 Leadership Positions Nominations are open for leadership positions within the Homecare Workers Local 99 and will close on February 28,2001 at 5:00 p.m. Nominations forms can be requestedfrom Anita Fox at1-800-527-9374 x 121 or you can access the forms on our web site at www,opeuseiu.org//homecare. President: Presides over meetings of the Homecare Council - Sets agenda for council meetings - Chief spokesperson for the local - Represents Homecare Local at national, local and coalition meetings - Assist in development of Local’s communication system - Coordinate - Assist Homecare Council Directors. Vice President: In the absence or upon request of the President, performs the duties of the President - Replaces the President for any unexpired term of office - Assist in the development of the Homecare Council’s internal structure to support political action and organizing within the Local. Secretary-Treasurer: Keep records of Homecare Council’s meetings - Maintain financial records - Disburse Local funds - Assist in development of Homecare Council to support political action and organizing. Homecare Council Directors: (Two Homecare Council Directors for each of the 6 Districts within SEIU Local 503’s geographic districts. See footnote for reference on what SEIU Local district you live or work in.) Shall assist members - Participate in Homecare Local Meetings - Assist in political action in the district and whenever possible at the State Capitol - Assist in recruiting homecare workers into the union - Assist in communications within area of representation - Represent homecare workers at local district meetings. *Districtl: Multnomah, Clackamas or Washington County District2: Marion, Polk, Yamhill Counties Districts: Benton, Lane (except the coast) and Linn Counties. District 4: Southern Oregon, Douglas (except the coast), Jackson, Josephine, Klamath and Lake Counties District5: Eastern Oregon, Baker, Crook, Deschutes, Grant, Gilliam, Harney, Hood, Jefferson, Malheuer, Morrow, Sherman, Umatilla, Union, Wallowa & Wheeler Counties. District 6: Oregon Coast. Clatsop, Columbia, Coos, Curry, Lincoln, Tillamook and coastal areas of Douglas and Lane County. These positions will require a time commitment. Council meetings will probably occur at least every three months. Union staff will work with leadership to support efforts to carry out duties. Local funds will allow reimbursement of travel, meals and lodging if necessary to carry out the duties of the office.
