“We need to come together to get basic worker rights, like being covered by workers’ compensation if we are hurt on the job. That’s why I joined the union. Join me and other homecare union members at the founding convention so that we can stand together and work for improvements for ourselves and our clients.” Joye Willman, Portland T have always believed that if you want something you have to ask for it. I am going to the founding convention and I am active in our union so that our voices will be heard. We have to make sure that the system attracts the best providers, and a union contract that provides fair wages and benefits is our way to do that.” Tina Vazquez, Oregon City “None of us can do it all, but we can all do something. Homecare workers need the union and the union needs each of us. I wouldn’t miss being a part of this campaign and this founding convention for anything. The best way to help is to join the union today! Don’t wait; send your application in today! The legislature won’t listen to one of us, but they can’t ignore all of us.” Karen Thompson, Scio “Everyone in homecare please come to the founding convention in Salem on January 26 and 27. One of us cannot win a lot but all of us together can win a contract for homecare workers and ensure quality care for our clients. Rita Sparks, Eugene “Headlines should read ‘History in the Making: Homecare Workers Hold Historical First Convention in Oregon!’ Measure 99 won us the right to have our voices heard. Now is your chance. At the founding convention, homecare workers from all over Oregon will meet in Salem to attend our very first homecare convention. How exciting! What fun!
