19 :° ful assistance of Mr. Bill Coleman and i- Mr. Bob Johnson, Director and Acting i- Director of the Civil Service Commis- i, sion. The legislation which they pfo- :e posed coincided with your legislative n program. Mr. Coleman, gave valuable le information, which assisted me in pre is senting to the sub-committee of yhe Ways and Means, the arguments which t resulted in making the pay plan effec- d tive March 1st, instead of July lst£ ill and in all other.matters, both were co- 0®erative and helpful. Mrs. Rassmusseri ] of the Oregon League of Women Vo f ters was. generous with her time in t j making studies and obtaining the sup 1 port of her members in opposition to proposals which . would have injured the civil service act. She made several valuable appearances before various committees. I hesitate in singling out the names of any particular legislators, because practically all of the legislators were considerate to any proposals which I had to submit. Nevertheless, I did find that Senator Alien' Carson and Repre sentatives John Snellstrom and Alex Barry gave an exceptional amount S time and study and were understand ing and helpful to. the state employees in their*1 legislative program. Respectfully submitted, : 'i .
