Sue Vandevert, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Claude Vandervert Jr. be came the bride of Patrick Me Auliffe in the Vernonia Bible Church Saturday. December 18 The 7 p.m. service was per formed by Rev. D.J. Dickey with approximately 200 guests w it nessing the couple exchange vows. Two pink flocked Christmas trees trimmed with sparkling twinkle lights and the flickering lights of randies on the platform and in candelabras decorated the church. Fir and holly accented the platform where the rites were held while red candles and fir boughs added to the windows. The pews were trimmed with pink bows. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a formal gown with a lace bodice accented by pearls . There was a matching lace ruffle on the train, and lace and pearl appliques on the skirt. She carried a bouquet of white gardenias, pink roses, and lily of the valley. Bill Van devert, and her cousin. Dan Organ, served as usher and canlelighters. The wedding service was high lighted by a harp prelude, a surprise for the bride from the groom. Soloists were Claude Vandevert III , the bride's bro ther, and James McAuliffe, the groom's brother. A reception was held following the wedding rites, at the church. A four tier cake and punch was served. I-ater that evening the couple left on a wedding trip to the Oregon coast, returning to their new home in Aloha Christmas day. The bride, a librarian's aide, attended Capernwray Bible, in England and Bryan College in Tennessee. She is employed by Washington Grade School. The groom, son of M r. and Mrs. Richard McAuliffee also at tended Capernwray Bible and is currently at Portland State. He is employed as a dockman by Silver Earle Freight lines. The Rock Creek circle held their weekly meeting Wednes day at the home of Mrs Homer Gwin. January. 1947 - Mr. and Mrs. H E. Kamholz of Goldendale, Washington were here to spend part of the Christ mas week at the Marvin Kamholz home. Martha Wells has been sick the past several weeks with rheumatic fever. She is still unable to attend school. M r and Mrs. Charlie Justice and son spent Sunday at the Riley Hall home.
