Thursday November 5,1981 Vernonia Freedom—Page 3 My Neck Of The Woods Deer hunting open in Willamette Valley thru Nov. by Dennis Dobson If you’re like me, and so many others, and didn’t manage to find a legal deer during the regular season, take heart, for all is not yet lost. For those of you who may not know it, deer hunting isn’t quite over yet. You may have to travel a bit but you can still take part in the Willamette Valley agricultural hunt. This hint, limited to the Willamette Unit (check you game regs for boundary lines and a description) will continue through November 30. Designed to help control deer populations in the heavily agricultural Willamette Valley, where they often wreak terrible damage to crops, the Fish and Game Department allows you to use any unfilled tag to take one deer of either sex. I’m planning a hunt in the PRO FOOTBALL QUIZ Here’s a little something for all you armchair quarterbacks; a Football Quiz you can puzzle out in the comfort of your own living room. Provided by Chuck Hendryx at Vernonia Market Place, I’m sure you’ll enjoy it as much as we have. We’ve provided space below each question for you to write in your answers. Be sure and save them because next week we’ll provide a list for you to check them against. Now, on your mark; get set; GO... There are 28 professional football teams. 27 are listed. I’ll let you Imow how it goes, but just in case my luck holds true to form I’d appreciate it if you’d keep your fingers crossed for me. ’For those of you who have simply given up in disgust, or just can’t get away for the Ag hunt, here’s a little something I hope you’ll get a kick out of. It’s called “A Day In The Life Of A Deer Hunter” and was brought to my attention by O.J. Ziegler. OJ, of course, got his deer on opening weekend. Oh well, maybe next year. 1:00 AM 2:00 AM 2:30 AM 3:00 AM 3:15 AM 3:30 AM 4:00 AM *4:30 AM 6:05 AM 6:06 AM 6:07 AM 6:08 AM 8:00 AM 9:00 AM 10:00 AM NOON 12:15 PM 12:20 PM 12:30 PM 12:45 PM 12:55 PM 3:00 PM 3:30 PM 4:00 PM 4:01 PM 5:00 PM 6:00 PM 6:01 PM 6:02 PM 6:03 PM 6:05 PM 6:06 PM 6:07 PM 6:10 PM 6:15 PM 6:25 PM 6:25 PM 6:30 PM 8.
