Spring Fashion Show The preparations for the Jaycee-ette’s Spring Fashion Show are in full swing. The Show will feature home-sewn fashions, and the public is reminded that everyone is encouraged to participate. The Show is set for Sunday, April 22nd, and now is the time to be sewing for it. Booth space will also be available for clothing-related crafts (embroidery, applique, etc.). The divisions will include children’s wear, sports wear, at-home and formal wear. Anyone with questions or wishing more information should contact Mrs. Sharon Linstad at 429-3602 or Mrs. Patty Fetherston at 429-8844. June Wilson not intended Baby Co-op A meeting of mothers with young children met Thursday, March 22 at 10 a.m. to organize the Baby Co-op at the Community Activity Center. The regular day for the Baby Co-op will be Wednesday from 10 a.m. until noon. Mothers who are interested should come in at that time to join. The purpose of the Baby Co-op is to alternate baby-sitting among the mothers so each can have some free'time. There is to be a minimum of 2 mothers for each 5 babies. The Baby Co-op will also be having classes and discussions on child care, training and development. This is a good example of people joining together in a common cause to make life better for themselves and others. People helping people help themselves. VERNONIA MARKET PLACE 3’/» lb. The subject was so facinating it was continued among other people who were also enthusiastic on the subject of home remedies. Therefore, The Community School Activity Center is beginning as a new project, the collection of old home remedies from area people to eventually be put into booklet form before they are lost and forgotten. It is hoped that all people in the area with home remedies will contribute to this collection. The names of the contributors will be printed with each remedy. Please write your remedies out on paper or a file card and sign your name to it so no m istakes will be made. Those who have home remedies should not miss this opportunity to share them with this generation and perhaps future generations. Texas Ave. Sunday Public M eeting 10 a .m . It is to be noted that in the report of the City Budget Hearing three weeks ago (Feb. 28), June Wilson as chairman of the recreation council spoke out for funding for the Community Schools Program, pointing out that it might alleviate future police problems, but that in no way did she suggest a reduction of the present police budget. Furthermore the editors article of the following week, regards discourtious participation in public meetings was no reference to Mrs. Wilson and indeed was not meant to point out any particular persons but the nature of communication failure at some public meetings. Baptist observe prayer Ladies of the First Baptist Church will observe prayer for Home Missions on Friday March 23 at 9:30 am at the First Baptist Church Bible Study led by Mrs. Roy Johnson and Ruth Rumphol.
