Phone 843-2952 , 843- 2955. 43-tfc Barbara Fletcher had eye s u r gery May 21 at McMinnville hos pital and is home now getting along all right. by Doris Samson Mr; Clifors P ark er of Salem was a business visitor in Grand Ronde June 7. Mr. P ark er has leased the Samson farm ground and will commence his improve ments soon after the hay is cut. Obituaries show and come from many other states and Canada to prove it. On the grounds is the splendid type village, parking for tr a il ers, cam pers and c a rs by the hundreds. There is also the usual concessions and rid es that ac company all rodeos, and also the loudspeaker call for the lost parents of so and so a child to please report to the grandstand. We spent two wonderful days there. L ater I went to town and spent a week with my other sister and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Galchel. While there I was presented with a great great niece born May 27» Mrs. Gatchel and I were down town shopping when two ladies stopped to make a query, saying that they used to be residents of The Dalles, would you know that they were old classm ates back in grade school days. One was Mr. Garnet Moore from as near as Tillamook. Memorial Day we visited our family graves in the Odd Fellows cemetery, five generations of them. Relatives gathered from Con don, Portland and me from Grand Ronde. This is our family r e union that we haye a potluck luncheon in the park and catch up on the family goings and comings. Only one thing to blight the happiness of the time was the funeral of a very dear friend whom we called cousin. The next Thursday I came to. Portland with Hazel Spang, a cou sin. In Portland we shopped and visited other relatives. Oh yes, we also called on the horse m a r ket while there and I brought some meat home with me. Like it? It is great and where else can you buy sirloin tip steak for 75 cents a pound? ' While I was gone my grandson, Charlie Samson, fed my gold fish, watered my garden and fed my chickens. Robertson of Sheri dan died June 5 in a Salem hospital. Graveside services were held Thursday, June 7, 1973 at 10:00 a.m. in Green C rest Memorial Park, Sheridan, Oregon, under the direction of Adamson’s Sheridan Funeral Home. Mr. Robertson was born August 24, 1896 in Neseda, Wisconsin, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert L. Robertson Sr. He m arried Jessie M. Weaver February 14, 1915 in Winner, South Dakota. He farmed for a number of years before going into the grocery business in St. Francis, South Dakota in 1942. He moved to Grand Ronde, Oregon about, 1947 where he was employed at Mur phy’s Mill. He operated the HiWay Market in Sheridan during the 50’s then took over a nut farm in Tigard for about six years. He made his home in Sheridan for the past ten years. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society or the H eart Fund. He is survived by his wife Jessie of Sheridan; two sons, John A. Robertson of Grand Ronde and Dave Robertson of Hebo; a brother Arthur of Minneapolis; two sisters, Lillian P eer ofWin- ner, South Dakota and Mamie Murdock of Virginia; seven grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; other relatives and friends. F uller was born May 8, 1865 in Peabody, Kansas, the daughter of Henry H. and Mary Weaver Sharer. She m arried George Wesley Fuller in Chey enne, Wyoming September 18, 1913. They moved to Oregon in 1920 where they moved back and forth between the Tualatin and Yamhill valleys until 1929 when they settled in the Sheri dan-Willamina area. She was a member of the Sheridan Men nonite church. She is survived by six sons,. Henry of McMinnville, Walter of Grand Ronde, Clarence of Roseburg, Robert of Hillsboro, Ronald of Lebanon, Howard of Inkom, Idaho, George of Gates; six daughters, Mary Turner of Portland, Rosalie Rasmussen of McMinnville, Dorthy. Weaver of Grand Ronde, Violet Curl of Grand Ronde, Willabell Kem per of North Plains, Barbara Schofield of Salem; seventy-six grandchildren; fifty-seven great grandchildren; other relatives and friends. The boys participated in a 15 mile hike in the dune area near Sand Lake and spent a lot of their tim e working on advance ment to second class.
